Does your company have personality?

Call it culture, personality or whatever you want, but some companies really have it, and it shows. I was walking through the Jacksonville airport yesterday toward my US Air gate and I noticed that the desks at some of the gates were all decorated for Halloween. I didn’t have to look or think twice, I knew they were Southwest gates. What other airline tries to have fun while they work?

At Wind-lock, we have fun while we work. We’re a personable, fun bunch of people and we try to make sure our customers see that too. Customer service is what we provide; it’s not the tools and accessories that people come to us for. They come to us for the service they know they’ll get and it comes with a smile and often even a laugh.

Have you watched any of our YouTube videos? If you have, you’ll see the personality of our company that we try to include even while delivering important product information. It doesn’t really take more time to develop a video and have some fun with it; it just comes natural to our employees. And, furthermore, if the video is funny it will get passed on and viewed more by our customers and potential customers. Can you say “viral marketing”?

But you can’t force something that isn’t in your company. Not all companies are made up of the type of people to be like Southwest Airlines or Zappos, and change doesn’t happen overnight, but just look at how good it is to be different!

What kind of culture or personality does your company have? Is it inviting? Do people like doing business with your company?
