Social Media Etiquette

Posted by windlock on September 30, 2011 at 12:55 pm

Social media is great.  I think we can all agree on that.  Currently, Wind-lock focuses on the big three, and I think we’re pretty good at it.  Almost daily I’ll come across a style of sharing that inspires me to try a new approach, like the increasingly popular #FBLT hashtag on Twitter.  Other times, I’ll [...]

How do you Measure Social Media Success?

Posted by windlock on June 27, 2011 at 2:49 pm

As more and more B2B companies are flocking to sites like Facebook and Twitter, it becomes increasingly more difficult to stand out in the eyes of customers.  How do you compete with hundreds of thousands of other accounts flooding the social media world?  We like to think that you do this by being unique.
We like [...]

A year in the making

August 3, 2009 – My first day on the job at Wind-lock.  My task: start a social media campaign to put our company ahead of the competition.  My tools: a lifetime of computer training and social networks savvy.  Sounds easy, right?
Unfortunately, social media for business does not work the same way as social media for [...]

The Cure for Old Fart-itis

Posted by windlock on July 29, 2010 at 2:11 pm

About a year ago, while discussing the merits of a Kindle (e-reader) vs. traditional books with a dear friend and old-school purist, I had a revelation. We, as business leaders, need to free ourselves from Old Fart-itis and embrace what the recently (or soon to be) employed already know. They are the decision makers of [...]

On January 21, 2010, we published a blog post about our first YouTube video to reach 1,000 views.  Just over five months later, that same video has tripled its views, and reached over 3,000 views!

The truly remarkable thing about this accomplishment is the fact that the video is all about EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finishing [...]

Equally as important and key to knowing what you are selling is listening and responding to your customers.
Continuing on my gym saga, I’ll tell you that I told an employee how unhappy I was with the packed gym. Knowing that he is probably just the guy at the counter, I didn’t expect to get any [...]

With micro-blogging sites like Facebook and micro-micro-blogging sites like Twitter, who has the time to macro-blog, a process also known as blogging?
The world is moving at a faster pace than it was twenty minutes ago, and your customers no longer have the spare time to spend thirty seconds reading your thoughts and ideas on your [...]

After a few fun days spent in Denver, we are back at Wind-lock’s corporate headquarters in Leesport, Pennsylvania.  We enjoyed speaking with those of you who attended the AWCI / Intex Expo about our social networks, and how they can keep you connected with us.

We sincerely feel that Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are the future [...]
